Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Gooding, ID

Total Budget: $2,850

Areas of Focus: Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: Shipping container for donation storage for Gooding Elementary in Gooding, Idaho.

Gooding Rotary will provide a 20 foot shipping container to Gooding Elementary School for storage of donated school supplies and household furnishings for families in need. Currently they often have to turn away donations because of lack of storage space.

The Gooding rotarians will be constructing shelving for the inside of the shipping container and preparing the ground for placement. A large rotary emblem will be affixed to the outside of the container. We plan to have this project completed by October 30, 2024.

These containers fluctuate in price but we anticipate to be able to by one for $3,500 to $4,000. Then we will have costs for shelving in the range of $250.00. Our club has voted and approved the extra expense over the Tier 2B funding for this project.
