Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Fort Collins

Total Budget: $3,900

Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health, Community economic development

Activity Type: Community Development: General

Summary: Deliver holiday baskets containing food and store gift cards to provide nutrition to food insecure families

Using community partners Museo de las Tres Colonias, Catalyst Housing, Poudre School Disctrict and Finally Home, identify 50 food insecure families to be recipients of holiday food baskets.

Baskets will supply food and store gift cards that recipients can use to ease pressure of inflation and providing nutrition at the holidays.

This is a project that we fully funded last year through member donations and with the work of over 30 Rotarians.

Rotarian service components include

Working with community partners to identify families, set a date for delivery and map routes

Acquiring food, bags and gift cards from local vendors

Assembling baskets

Delivering directly to recipients

Club Rotarians mentioned that this one one of the most meaningful activities they performed all year where components of service and fellowship blended to help local families in need.

David,

I apologize for the delay in paying your grant. For the first time we received more grant requests than DDF was available. We cannot request the DDF till the report balances. To make that happen we have decided to cut the DDF from every grant. Your DDF request of $4,650 will be reduced to $4,185.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Randy
