Project Description Country: Maracopa Location: Scottsdale Total Budget: $3,750 Area of Focus: None Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Purchase and distribute clothing, blankets and hygiene supplies to around 200 unsheltered people in the Scottsdale Community During the summer months, there is a significant increase of unsheltered people visiting the Day Relief Centers to escape the blistering heat. The Day Relief Center at Vista Del Camino Community Center provides a place for people to get a meal, take a nap, get a shower, get minor medical attention from Circle the City and talk to a homeless outreach navigator to work towards ending their homelessness. Each week, they serve around 200 people. In September Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary will provide desperately needed clothing, hygiene products, and protection from the heat. In October 2024 our club members will volunteer at our Day Relief Center to sort clothing, prepare and serve meals, and help with the shower operations. We will notify you as soon as the grant funds are available. Reminder: No money should be spent until the funds are sent to the clubs. No receipts for spending prior to that can be accepted. 31-Aug-24 by Tom McLarty After some delay from RI our block grant was approved on Friday August 30, 2024. The funds should be transferred sometime next week. We will be changing the status on your grant to “Approved” as of that date. As has been stated several times RI will not recognize receipts dated prior to August 30, 2024. Also, PO’s and cancelled checks are not acceptable forms of documentation.
