Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Ramona

Total Budget: $1,200

Area of Focus: None

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: Give a 3rd grader a dictonary

We have done this for as long as I remember - we hand out a dictionary to every third grader for 6 schools - the experiences I have had when a child runs up and hugs me to thank me is beyond amazing. Its teaching children to read. I have been an Oasis tutor for 2 years now teaching children to read, I did a 1st grader and took her on to 2nd grade - I can not wait to hand that little girl a dictionary. Some people think it's getting obsolete but I do not believe that. I really hope it's something we do forever.
