The San Diego-Yokohama Sister City Societies established an education and cross-cultural exchange program between San Diego High School's International Ambassadors Club and Yokohama Kanazawa Municipal High School students, in Japan. The students from these two-schools use Insta360 cameras videography to connect virtually and share many recorded aspects of their education, culture and the environment they reside in.
The goal of the Rotary club of El Cajon Sunset is to expand the program by creating new chapters at a Ghana and Kenya school. The new chapters will need three Insta360 cameras that cost about $1600.
The 360 Virtual Connect- San Diego High School, Ghana and Kenya project, will be a partnership between the Rotary Club of El Cajon Sunset and the San Diego/Tema Sister City Societies. It will empower students in Ghana (Chemu Senior High School), Kenya (Malia Education Center) and San Diego High School's International Ambassadors Club by providing them with Insta360 cameras and training which will allow them to create immersive 360-degree videos. Ghana and Kenya students will collaborate with students from San Diego High School's International Ambassadors Club. Using the shared immersive 360 videos from each school's respective community, the initiative will foster cross-cultural exchanges, enhance educational experiences, and promote global understanding. The leader who initiated San Diego-Yokohama program has volunteered to train, setup and oversee the long-term sustainability of the project at no cost.
