The Meridian Library District (MLD) and the Rotary Club of Meridian have identified the need to support youth through a summer reading program. The goal of the program is to help students in the MLD geographic area maintain literacy skills over the summer and develop a love of reading. Participating youth receive two free age-appropriate books and engage in challenges, prizes, and activities designed to prevent the "summer slide." Meridian Rotary Club will collaborate with the MLD to purchase, apply bookplates, and distribute free books playing a crucial role in building home libraries and supporting childhood literacy and make a lasting impact on the participating youth of Meridian. Custom Rotary bookplates will be placed in the books that are given to the students and are estimated to cost $100. The Meridian Rotary Club will purchase approximately 650 books. The books range in price between $5 and $8.

Your application is for tier 3 in which club contribution must by equal to DDF. Please adjust your financing. Also required in tier 3 is a detailed spending plan, so you'll need to do some due diligence into how many books you estimate to buy at what cost, as well as the cost of the printing of the name plates. In other words, the district needs to know how you came up with $5000 for the estimated cost of the project. You can add this to your narrative or upload a spreadsheet detailing your budget to the documents tab.

There was an error in the recent notification that the District's block grant has been approved by The Rotary Foundation. The date should have been July 15, 2025. When reporting your grant upon project completion, your receipts will need to show expenses incurred after that date. Thank you for participating in TRF grants!
