Project Description Country: USA Location: Hastings Total Budget: $6,260 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene Activity Type: Water: Supply/Access Summary: Support for Kenya global grant Phase 2 water supply for 3 villages This is phase 2 of the water project in Kenya that will provide the equipment to supply water for three additional villages in Muthokoe, Ndulikye and Inyokoni Kenya. By providing water to these villages, it will also help girl's education since the women are primarily responsible for obtaining the water by walking to the water source and carrying it back daily to those villages. As a result of installing the water equipment the girls will have time for schooling and the adult women time to handle chores at their homes. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) The DDF funds will be used to help purchase one of three water storage tanks.
