Project Description Country: USA Location: West Valley-Phoenix Total Budget: $5,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: To provide a schlorship to a graduating HS student to continue their education in the Culinary Arts The Careers through Culinary Arts Program provides schlorships for graduating HS students who have successfully completed the school year program. The Southwest Chapter of C-CAP provides 30 schlorships for student to continue their education in the Culinary Arts. The Verrado Rotary would like to continue to offer a $5,000 award to a local student. This program is national in scope and has the full support of our club. Club member Chef Kevin Barko and his wife Amy volunteer countless hours to run this chapter. The award breakfast happens at the end of April where students find out what they have earned. The whole process builds confidence, self esteen, and leadership skills. This project starts up in the new school year with compettions staring in January The final 32 students awarded schlorships to continue their education.
