Project Description Country: USA Location: Eagle, Idaho Total Budget: $3,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Dictionary Project for Eagle-Garden City & Meridian 3rd Grade Classes The Rotary Club of Eagle-Garden City, at the beginning of the school year will order special student dictionaries from The Dictionary Project that also include facts about the world and the United States. Rotarians from our club will deliver these dictionaries to the students in classrooms of third graders for free to eleven (or more) different elementary schools in our service area. Each dictionary will have a label inside allowing the third grader to identify the book as their own personal book and a Rotary bookmark. It is an important step to suppor education and literacy of young people in our community. Area Schools who benefit: Eagle Hills Elementary, Eagle Elementary, Galileo Math & Science, Seven Oaks Elementary, Rolling Hills Charter School (combining with Northstar Charter School this fall), Pierce Park Elementary, Shadow Hills Elementary, Star Elementary, River Valley Elementary & Pepper Ridge Elementary.
