Project Description Country: USA Location: San Clemente, CA Total Budget: $2,000 Area of Focus: The environment Activity Type: Community Development: Volunteer Services Summary: Gaining Clean California Community Designation for San Clemente San Clemente Rotary is heading the effort to designate San Clemente as a "Clean California Community." Along with a few other non-profits, SC Rotary has organized the effort to meet 10 of the 15 criteria to bestow the City with this designation. This is an effort through CalTrans, Keep California Beautiful, and Keep America Beautiful. San Clemente Rotary submitted the application to Clean California Community designation on February 26, 2025. The timeline is to complete the 10 criteria by February 2026. Criteria are: 1. Sign the Pledge 2. Advisory Body 3. Cleanups 4. Measure Progress 5. Community Education 6. Youth Education 7. Long Term Planning 8. Greening & Beautification 9. Collection Drives 10. Partnerships To date, four criteria have been completed and two more are in progress. This grant will allow the group to focus on the Youth and Community Education criteria with events and projects that complete those criteria.
