Summary: K-8 students benefit from tangible rewards through the positive reinforcement program at Challenger School, Glendale, AZ.
Challenger School, in the Glendale Elementary School District, needs books, toys, clothing, snacks and personal hygiene items to stock the Bull Dog Bodega. Students earn Bull Dog Bucks for good behavior, citizenship, and kindness. Teachers want to boost student motivation and morale through positive reinforcement. Rotarians from the Sun City Club volunteer at the Bodega on the first Friday of every month.
Funds will also be used to provide prizes for the annual Winterfest. Rotarians from the Sun City Club serve as hosts and run the carnival-type games at this event.
Remaining funds will be used to supplement field trips, particularly the annual third grade field trip to the Arizona Science Museum.
