Summary: We will provide a minimum of 300 backpacks filled with school supplies to students of all grade levels in the City of Lakewood, CA, USA.
The Rotary Club of Lakewood will partner with Project Shepherd, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to promote the need for donated backpacks and school supplies to support students in need. Each club member will contribute by either making a monetary donation or providing backpacks and/or school supplies. Approximately 20 club members will also join community members, local businesses, elected officials, and volunteers from other service organizations to help fill backpacks with grade-appropriate supplies for students.
These supplies will go beyond basic items like pencils and crayons. Middle and high school students requiring specialized calculators for advanced math courses will receive these essential tools, which can be a significant financial burden for some families. The Rotary Club of Lakewood is committed to supporting this program throughout the school year and will fulfill additional supply requests as resources allow.
