Project Description Country: USA Location: Lakewood, CA Total Budget: $7,900 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: We will provide a minimum of 7 scholarships to high school seniors who will further their education at a community college, college, university or trade school. The Rotary Club of Lakewood will once again coordinate its annual scholarship program, offering monetary awards to graduating high school seniors who reside in the city of Lakewood and plan to pursue higher education. Scholarship applications will be promoted in February, with a submission deadline in late March. Recipients will be notified in early April. The selection process will consider several factors, including academic achievement, community service, financial need, and a demonstrated commitment to completing a post-secondary educational program. Eligible programs include community college, four-year college or university, or a trade school. Scholarship awards will range from $750 to $1,000, depending on the availability of funds. Each scholarship is a one-time gift and will be presented to recipients at the awards recognition event scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2026.
