Primary needs include replacing a broken sink faucet, painting and refreshing cabinet surfaces, installing new cabinet hardware and drawer liners and purchasing a mobile kitchen cart for enhanced functionality. By upgrading the kitchen, this project aims to enhance the dignity and quality of services offered at the center, improving its utility for educational programs, food-related workshops, and community gatherings.
A total of $1000 will be used for this project. RCVP will coordinate with Friendly Center staff to ensure minimal service disruption during the refurbishment (approximately 2 days of work). Project planning will start after approval by TRF and will be completed before December 31, 2025. Anticipate 10-20 RCVP members participating in activities including: planning and scheduling of work, purchasing and transporting materials and on-site labor (painting, installation of hardware, faucet replacement). Friendly Center will provide in-kind support including staff time and volunteer coordination. All purchases and labor will directly enhance the kitchen's functionality and support the Friendly Center's mission to serve families in need.
