Summary: The Kinship Living Program supports 30 foster youth, aged 14–17, currently placed with relatives (Kinship Care) in Orange County, California. This project will help to purchase essential items (clothing, shoes and school supplies) for these students.
Rotarians will help to address the basic material needs of foster youth in Kinship Care, while promoting youth empowerment through hands-on financial education and help in strengthening their life skills in preparation for adulthood and independence.
Total funding for this project is $2000 and will be used to offset costs for essential items such as school supplies, clothing, and shoes, mentoring them under supervision to promote financial literacy, budgeting, and self-reliance. Planning for this project will commence after grant approval from TRF and will be completed by November 30, 2025. An estimated of 10-15 Rotarians will be involved in this on-site project.
