Each year Project Mercy, a non-profit San Diego agency invites organizations to build houses for the destitute families in the colonias east of Tijuana, Mexico. The Rotary Club of Fallbrook has proudly participated in this endeavor for several years now and the moment we complete the home, we reiterate our commitment and enthusiasm to do it again. For some Rotarians and Interact students this is the first time to go to Mexico and actually see, experience and interact with families so close to our border but living in such poor conditions. Recognizing the extreme need to alleviate the health hazards incurred by poor makeshift housing inspired us to be able to help in even a small way.
The Rotary Club of Fallbrook with the Village Rotary Club and the Old Mission Rotary Club would like to help construct a home on October 18, 2025. The cost of the material for one house is $7,000 which includes an outhouse.
The Rotary Club of Fallbrook has pledged $2,000, the Village Rotary Club has pledged $500, and the Old Mission Rotary Club has pledged $2,500. We respectfully ask the District for DDF funds of $2,000 to complete the balance of the funds necessary to build the home.
This is an opportunity for fellow Rotarians, future Rotarians, Interact students, families of all sizes and ages to come together for one day and truly live the motto of "Service Above Self".
