Summary: Provision of about 8 Apple iPads for use by The Carl Ullman Elementary (PS213) students

The Carl Ullman Elementary, a public school (PS213) in Bayside, New York serves students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. A significant portion of its student population comes from economically disadvantaged families.

One of the most urgent community needs, identified by the school, was to initiate students to the world of technology. It has become evident that the school lacks the financial resources to have a sufficient number of iPads for its tech classes.

Based on the advice of the school Principal, we identified a need for dedicated Apple iPads (iPad) to support the school program. Despite the school's existing resources, it lacks the technology necessary to make full use of these tools. Many of the available resources rely on iPad applications, yet there are few iPads allocated for school activities. Expanding the use of iPads into the program would greatly enhance the school's curriculum by fully leveraging existing tools that have a proven track record of fostering student growth and learning. While purchasing about 8 iPads won't completely address this need, it will significantly improve the program's efficiency and effectiveness. Ultimately, this grant will advance the education of vulnerable children while addressing a vital community need.

The estimated cost for the 8 iPads is around $4,000. This allocation ensures that each device is equipped with the necessary specifications to support students' learning needs, including access to digital resources, educational applications, and remote learning platforms. By investing in this technology, we aim to provide students with equal opportunities to learn, collaborate, and excel in their studies. We will enhance both Literacy and digital literacy, ensuring that no student is left behind in an increasingly technology- driven world.

Our club is committed to supporting students in their learning and personal growth. As part of this initiative, other than the contribution of 8 iPads to enhance classroom engagement providing access to digital resources should our budget allow, we also hope to include additional school supplies- such as notebooks, pens, and other essential materials- that will further assist the students in their educational journey and create a more enriching learning environment.
