Healthy Mind Initiatives project will create app called MindTheMends. This app will address the urgent mental health screening needs for underprivileged children in Queens, New York. In this community, access to mental health care is extremely limited, and awareness about childhood mental health challenges is often lacking in schools and institutions. Many children silently struggle with anxiety, depression, hyperactivity, and other conditions without receiving proper support or guidance.
To respond to this need, the club will implement MindTheMends, a mental health screening app and wellness program designed specifically for underserved children and youth ages 5-21 years old. This initiative combines digital innovation with professional screening to ensure children receive early identification, awareness, care and referral.
Activities Funded by the Project:
will provide 15 children full screening session and referral
Development and use of the MindTheMends mental health screening app, providing low cost and accessible tools for early identification.
Free professional mental health screenings conducted by medical office, in collaboration with local therapy offices.
Wellness workshops for children focused on coping skills, stress management, and emotional resilience.
Awareness and educational workshops for parents and caregivers, reducing stigma and increasing knowledge about child mental health.
