Project Description Region: North America Country: USA Location: County of Riverside Total Budget: $60,000 Area of Focus: Maternal and child health Riverside County covers 7,200 square miles. The existing Mobile Health Program consists of a single Mobile Health Unit deployed to set up at various locations within a 60 mile radius from the Riverside University Health System (RUHS) base in East Moreno Valley. Those in need of health service beyond Indio need to travel as much as 80 miles to reach the Mobile Health Unit. This grant will provide equipment to support RUHS Tele-Medicine services. This concept uses new communication technology to reach clinics serving maternal and child health clients outside the existing radius of distance and time in the more remote areas of the County. When completed, this project will be a template for improving health service to mothers and children in many other remote areas of the world!
