Dhulikhel hospital is the Nepal's third largest hospital in Nepal where people get quality treatment in nominal rate. The hospital have a multi-disciplinary approach which integrates constant improvement in the health care services and academic programs with infrastructure development, competent workforce, capacity building which emphasize primary health care in rural areas, research and sustainable community development. The goal of the hospital is to decentralize health care by extending its services to the rural community settings. The hospital is now providing the services to the people from Kavrepalanchowk, Sindhu-palchowk, Dolakha, Sindhuli, Ramechhap, Bhaktapur and other surrounding districts. Nevertheless, Dhulikhel Hospital has already provided services to people from more than 70 out of 75 districts of the country.

The hospital has an outpatient services such as internal medicine (i.e. Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Neurology, Tropical Medicine and Nephrology); General Surgery; Urosurgery; Endoscopic Surgery; Pediatrics; Obstetrics and Gynecology; Orthopedics; Dermatology, Venereology and Cosmetology; Otorhinolaryngology; Ophthalmology; Psychiatry; Dental; Family Planning; and Immunization. The investigative and therapeutic services includes laboratory (i.e. Histopathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Parasitology); Radiology (i.e. Digital x-ray, MRI and CT scan); Ultrasonography and Color Doppler; Cardiac Investigations (i.e. Electrocardiography, Echocardiography and Color Doppler, Treadmill Testing/exercise ECG, Holter/Ambulatory ECG, Ambulatory Blood Pressure; Endoscopy (i.e. upper gastro endoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography); Arthroscopy; Pharmacy and Physiotherapy and inpatient services.

The hospital is growing in its dimension and services. In 2021/2022 A.D, it provided health service to more than 250,000 patients and 18,000 patients received inpatient services. The hospital has served with more than 120,000 patients with different kinds of laboratory tests. In the Biochemistry departments, more than 800,000 tests were performed including emergency and in-patients. Everyday there was more than 2000 tests were conducted in the department with limited instruments. Due to limited instruments hospital is not able to conduct more testing on its lab and has impact on treatment. Only in few hospitals in Nepal there are quality lab testing and among them Dhulikhel hospital has better quality lab test.

For more lab testing , hospital needs Automated Bio-Chemistry Analyzer and Sodium Potassium Analyzer. With this equipment hospital can perform additional 300 more lab test per day.

The timeline of this project is of a year. And all the project funds will be used to purchase equipment and training.
