The neonatology service of the regional hospital of Huacho has been working to serve the community since 1970 and after visiting this service we saw the need it has. In the year 2023 the number of births to teenage mothers has increased, in this year 2497 babies have been attended, of which 9 (3.60%) have died, many of them premature and 1132 (45.33%) were born by cesarean section and 152 (6.08%) were premature babies with respiratory problems, of which 7 babies died. the transport incubator is currently more than 20 years old and does not have all the necessary equipment to transport a baby. The lack of neonatal pulse oximeters makes the work of health personnel difficult, either to perform cardiac screening, which should be done within the first 24 to 48 hours of life to rule out the presence of congenital heart disease, or to measure the saturation of babies continuously and be able to act in a timely manner. Therefore in the year 2023 out of 2497 births 124 babies required to be in the intensive care unit, (4.2%). Approximately 95% of babies manage to recover and 5% of babies die due to premature births to teenage mothers without prenatal control, etc

This project needs to receive some pledges to go to the next level. Please check the "Financing" tab to see the list of current pledges. Once the amount pledged is equal to the project budget, the status of the project will be automatically changed to "Fully Pledged". Click here to pledge support for this project.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
