Project: Digital Transformation of 10 Government Schools in Nepal
Identified Needs:
Government schools in Nepal, especially in rural areas, lack essential resources to deliver quality education. The absence of digital technology exacerbates the disparity between rural and urban education systems. As digital literacy becomes critical for global economic participation, addressing these gaps is vital.
How the Project Will Meet These Needs:
The project, spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Lamjung, will modernize 10 government schools by:
Equipping them with digital infrastructure, such as computers, tablets, smart boards, and internet connectivity.
Developing localized e-learning content aligned with Nepal's curriculum.
Training teachers in digital literacy to enhance their teaching methodologies.
Ensuring sustainability through partnerships with local governments, NGOs, and private entities.
Timeline:
The project will be implemented over 10 months as follows:
Month 1-2: Selection of schools in collaboration with local governments.
Month 2-4: Procurement of digital devices and equipment.
Month 4-6: Infrastructure setup, including internet installation.
Month 6-8: Teacher training programs.
Month 8-10: Development of localized e-learning content.
Ongoing: Monitoring and evaluation of the project's impact.
Use of Project Funds:
The total budget for the project is NPR 26,000,000, allocated as follows:
Infrastructure (Computers, Smart Boards): NPR 15,000,000
Teacher Training and Development: NPR 3,000,000
Content Development: NPR 2,000,000
Internet and Connectivity: NPR 4,000,000
Project Administration: NPR 1,000,000
Monitoring and Evaluation: NPR 1,000,000
Club Member Involvement:
Members of the Rotary Club of Lamjung will play an active role in:
Coordinating the selection of schools and partnerships with stakeholders.
Overseeing procurement, implementation, and infrastructure setup.
Facilitating teacher training and community awareness campaigns.
Conducting monitoring and evaluation to ensure project success.
Through this initiative, the Rotary Club of Lamjung aims to bridge the digital divide, improve the quality of education, and empower students and teachers in rural Nepal for a brighter future.
