Transforming Rural Schools in Pune District

This project aims to address the lack of basic infrastructural and educational resources in underprivileged

Schools" by providing essential facilities and training, ensuring a conducive learning environment.

Key Objectives:

1. Enhance Educational Infrastructure: Improve school buildings, classrooms, and other facilities to ensure

safety, functionality, and comfort.

2. Equip Schools with Learning Resources: Provide science lab materials, library books, and computer lab setups

to foster better learning experiences.

3. Improve Hygiene and Sanitation: Refurbish toilet blocks, install group hand washing stations, and provide

WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) training for students and staff.

4. Empower Educators: Conduct teacher training sessions to upgrade teaching methodologies and skills.

5. Community Impact: Create ripple effects benefiting students' families and the broader rural community.

Target Schools and Beneficiaries:

1. Tanaji Malusare Vidyalaya, Dapode, Tal: Velhe, Pune - Beneficiaries: 186

2. Sarnaubat Sidoji Thopte Madhyamik Vidyalaya & Junior College, Khanapur, Tal: Bhor, Pune - Beneficiaries:

Planned Activities:

• Refurbishment of infrastructure, including repairs to roofs, electrification, painting, and waterproofing.

• Establishment of group hand washing stations with proper plumbing and water storage.

• Teachers' professional development and WASH habit training for students

Impact:

The project will directly benefit 811 individuals, including students, teachers, and staff. Indirect beneficiaries

This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.

D5340 is out of DDF for this Rotary year. We will consider this DDF allocation for the 25-26 rotary year in early April. Note that matching will go back to 1:1 so to receive $9000 of DDF, $9000 of DDF must be contributed by the RC of Carlsbad.
