Project Description Region: North America Country: USA Location: La Jolla Total Budget: $41,400 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Our candidate for this Global Grant Scholarship is Dr. Vanessa Montserrat Davila Conn, who is a second year PhD student in the SDSU-UCSD Joint Doctoral Program (JDP) in Public Health, Epidemiology track. Prior to starting her PhD studies, Dr. Vanessa Montserrat Davila Conn received her physician's degree in preventive medicine from the Instituto Nacional de Salud Publica in 2021. Her scholarship is in the area of infectious diseases, with a particular focus on HIV, HCV, and other sexually transmitted infections. She will extend her knowledge through graduate work focusing on policy impacts on HCV transmission. See her personal statement for more details.
